Oregon Tide Pool

There is just nothing more amazing than the incredibly colorful tide pools of the Oregon Coast. This short clip was shot at Myers Creek Beach, a short 7 miles south of Gold Beach Oregon. At low tide the sea-stacks are exposed and the resulting show is spectacular. There is a dynamic colorful display of all sorts of sea life that becomes visible when the tides are low. It's quite an adventure!

Blister Beetle

This hansom fellow is a leather wing beetle. It is indigenous to many desert areas of the American Southwest. This clip is part of our desert bug collection series. We found this little guy nibbling buds in the northern Sonoran Desert near the Salton Sea of southern California. He and thousands of his comrades were taking advantage of the springtime desert blooms that come quickly and go just as rapidly with the approach of the blistering desert summer sun. Fast Clouds

The potential for capturing beautiful video is almost endless in the desert southwest. This is a time lapse video clip that was captured near Joshua Tree National Park. The clouds were moving over the Joshua Tree National Park mountains at sunset and we found it irresistible to ignore. This is about 15 minutes of video which we compressed into a short clip so we could capture the moving clouds and shadows as the sun went down.

Yellowstone

This is a collection of still imagery we did for a client who needed some Yellowstone footage. It is a dramatic demonstration of how still imagery can be converted into a mesmerizing video presentation with background music. It was a great deal of fun making this piece. The beauty and the grandeur of Yellowstone National Park is already eye-popping, but set it in motion with a music background and it can knock your socks off. Turn up the sound, click the image on the left and enjoy your short trip through Yellowstone National Park.

Las Vegas Water

We did a production about to the water needs of Las Vegas Nevada and what use was made of this precious and rare desert commodity. We filmed the dancing fountains shown here during the Christmas season of 2006. It served as a reminder of how beautiful and valuable water is in the desert. Whether it is waste and folly or whether it is art is up to you. In any case, it served its purpose well in our movie about desert waters and the clip is fun to watch. Click on the image and enjoy the music and aqueous fanfare

Death Valley

One of our very favorite spots on the entire planet is Death Valley National Park, in California. If you have never seen it, trust us, you need to go there. It harbors some of the most interesting geology, plants, animals and history anywhere. This clip is a 7 minute tribute we made to the wonders of Death Valley. It is composed entirely of still imagery all combined together to paint what we think is a pretty accurate picture of what Death Valley is all about. So turn up the sound, click the image and take it away Maestro!

Caterpillar

This is another clip from our desert bug collection. I guess we're fond of our little creepy-crawlies. We are especially fond of the ones we find in the desert since it is such a harsh and inhospitable climate, yet our little buddies do just fine. Amazing. Anyway, this is the catapillar stage of the Phoneix Moth, one of the largest moths in the world. This fellow is about the size of your ring finger (assuming you have a good sized finger). We filmed him in the spring of 2009 in Death Valley National Park during the spring bloom. Once we set his antix to music, we had to snicker. Turn up the sound, click the photo and snicker along with us.

Dragon Fly

I don't know why we find it so necessary to keep bugging you with our bugs, other than we have a great fascination with desert life and the clips seemed to have fallen very nicely into some of our movies. That's right, more desert bug collection. This particular clip is one of our favorites. It is the flight of a dragon fly along the shores of the Salton Sea, filmed in the summer of 2008. It was blistering hot, humid and it had been a long ugly day of desert filming (not fun) but we couldn't resist setting up the camera and capturing this beautiful fairy princess on the wing, and of course adding a music bad to help the dance. Dance along too, dlick the photo!
